Public Safety
Throughout his service on the County Board, Chris Zimmerman has been an advocate for public safety improvements and enhancements for Arlington’s first responders. These include:
Building police-neighbor relationships through introduction of community policing in Arlington. This has successfully improved the links between the police department, civic associations, and individual members of the community; building mutual trust and information-sharing; and helping to deal with issues from burglary to graffiti.
Increasing Arlington’s police force.
Adding two medic units and expanding to four-person fire engine companies across the County.
Supporting additional investments to improve emergency communications systems.
