- Creating a Bus Priority Network
- Working through TPB and WMATA, Chris Zimmerman advocated for for coordinated regional commitment to enhance the performance of bus transit on major arterial and highway corridors. He also helped bring the region’s transportation providers together for an application for federal Stimulus funds under a competitive grant program, resulting in an award of a $60 million “TIGER grant” from the Obama Administration to fund a major portion of the plan.
- A regional approach to bike sharing
- Arlington is currently working with the District of Columbia to create a regional program like those in Paris and Montreal, in which bicycles are available for short-term rental from stations distributed around the region.
