Transportation
Chris Zimmerman has been a leader on transportation issues in Arlington and in the region. He has worked for years to make Arlington more pedestrian- and bike-friendly, and more transit-oriented than ever before. He is widely recognized as one of the foremost advocates for public transportation in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. He has served as a member and chair of every significant transportation body in the region (including WMATA, the Transportation Planning Board, the Northern Virginia Transportation Commission, the Northern Virginia Transportation Authority, Virginia Railway Express; also served as President of the Virginia Transit Association.)
